Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are a non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. We are an affiliate of the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League, the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate, MMR operates under
AMAL's code of ethics.
We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. We also raise funds which can be made available to help Malamute owners keep their dogs during short term crises such as a job loss or medical emergencies. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
