Hello! My name is Kaya. I am a very sweet people loving malamute. I love to go for my walks to check out my favorite trees and bushes (just to make sure they are still mine). I lost my first family when they were no longer able to care for my needs. My heart is a little broken right now, but I know what I need to feel better – a family to call my own! My foster mom says that I am a bit anxious at first in a new place and when I get left alone (unless it is part of my routine). I am 6 years old and I am a perfect lady; I am house trained, and would prefer a home without any other animals. I'm just happy to be with my people and not share them with anyone else. I have polite people manners (but I do like to give my special people big bear hugs). Ideally I would find a home that wants to include me in all their day to day activities. I walk well on leash and know some basic commands. I am a typical malamute though and tend to think small animals are squeaky toys. Since I have a high prey drive I need a family with older children, without cats or other dogs. I am a special, soulful malamute that needs a human buddy that will walk me and spend time playing malamute games!
