LOST MALAMUTE ALERT!
|
| Update January 2010 - Polar has not been found.
One of our adopted Mals, Polar, was swept away by strong currents in the Palisades Creek area of Southeast Idaho, near the Wyoming state line on July 11th, 2008. (See map below) Please call 208-523-8934, 208-526-7121 or 208-569-2776 if you see him. A reward is being offered.
July, 2008 - We were just notified, as the family was sure he would turn up, and have been blanketing the area he disappeared in.The husband tried to go after him when he went in, and was nearly pulled under. They saw him swimming toward a low bank on the opposite shore, and are certain he got out, but have not been able to locate him. They and friends have gone over and over the area, put up posters, continue to visit the area, called the county, the forest service, the humane societies and shelters in the area, talked to campers and hikers, anything they could think of. We have suggested they also go on the local news. He is so beautiful and people friendly that we are certain someone came across him and took him home. He was wearing a red collar with tags, a red walking harness, and is micro chipped, so if someone did take him, they aren't wanting him to be found. Since this area is frequented by people from all over the U.S. he could be anywhere. This is a large, high energy, high maintenance dog, so if someone has him, there is the possibility that they will get tired of him, or that he will get free of them, and end up in a shelter. Thus, we are asking all of you to be on the lookout. Below is a map of where Polar was lost.

Update - January 2010 - The owner reports that Lobo was never found.
August, 2008 - Lobo has been missing from 2862 Elberton Road, Elberton, Washington since the night of the big thunderstorm on August, 18, 2008. She is a 70 lb. older female malamute, gentle and shy - not aggressive. Please catch her if you see her and call Lynne Cooper at any hour at 509-635-1489 with any information, so that she might try to follow her trail. She is very loved. She did not have her collar on and she is not microchipped. The owner understands that especially from storm fright, lost dogs can turn up 100 or more miles from home and weeks later, so she is still hopeful.
