Below is a little diary of our rescue of MInidoka Red and his eventual flight to medical care. Red has been adopted and is doing well in his new home! A big Thank You to all who generously donated for his medical care!

Red was able to hop a ride on a plane through Pilots N Paws and is now in Lolo, Montana getting wonderful medical care. He needs to gain some weight, but his tail seems to be healing well. They think he is highly adoptable and would do best to journey on to his new, forever home as soon as it is found. If you are interested in fostering or adopting this special courageous boy, please visit our Foster page for our online application, or our Adoption page for our online application. Thanks to pilot Gary and all who helped Red get out of the shelter, to medical care and on to a new life!

We have been able to get Red out of the shelter and to some immediate vet care, thanks to many compassionate volunteers who have been working on his behalf. He will be going to a vet who is well versed in this kind of abuse for longer term care and then we will need a foster home for him until he can be adopted. Everyone who has seen him has said he is a great dog who just loves affection. We have already raised over $300 for his medical care thanks to generous donors. If you would like to consider fostering Red, please fill out our Foster Application, if you are not already approved.

There is a very sweet Mal-a-nuff we are calling Minidoka Red, in a local shelter who is very thin and is the victim of abuse and maiming (his tail was cut off). We are arranging to get him to a wonderful vet in Montana, but his care will probably be costly and we still need a foster home for him to recover in. We do not have a lot of information on how he would do with kids or cats, but he seems to be okay with other dogs and despite the cruelty he has endured, is very loving with people. We have no more room. If you can possibly foster him, please contact us.
